Keepa – Amazon Price Tracker is a browser extension for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Microsoft Edge to improve your online shopping experience on the Amazon website.
Keepa is one of the extensions we listed in our 2017 Best Amazon Price Trackers Overview, but we never reviewed it.

When should you buy a product on Amazon?

Is the selling price really the cheapest? What is the price on other Amazon sites for which the item is offered or on eBay? Keepa group buy answers all these and many more questions automatically.

The extension supports all Amazon websites and interface languages ​​English, German, Italian, Spanish, and Japanese.

Automatic Keepa group buy function; while it adds an icon to your browser’s toolbar upon installation, you’ll be interacting with the Amazon extension directly.
It automatically embeds information on Amazon product pages. Just scroll down a bit to access the item’s price history chart directly. It can include Amazon, Used and Inventory transactions and shows the price history for each transaction.

The default date range is set to three months which you can change to day, week, month, year, or the entire available price history.

You can unlock other information on the page, such as sales ratings or list prices of items.

The interface is filled with links and options that can be intimidating for some users. Hover over the statistics to show the item’s lowest, highest, current, and average price over the past 90 and 180 days.
A click on ‘compare Amazon prices’ will look up the price of the item in other regional Amazon stores and display the price information in the interface; useful if you don’t mind shopping in those stores.

Keepa can display the item’s new and used coupons, average rating, and review count alongside all of that.

Price tracking on Amazon

Keepa supports price tracking so you get notified if the price of an item you’re interested in reaches a certain threshold. You can track prices on Amazon without signing up for an account; great.

Click on the ‘track product’ tab to start the process. You can set price thresholds for products offered directly by Amazon as well as new and used marketplace offers.

Select ‘start following’ and on the next page to ‘continue as guest’. Keepa supports the following tracking notification options:

• Email.
• Twitter.
• Facebook messages.
• Telegram Messenger.
• Web push notifications.
• Android application.

You can enable one or more channels individually. Keepa includes Lightning transaction information and will reorder the alert timer after 2 days by default. It then allows you to receive product notifications even if the product was previously available at the desired price and Keepa notified you of it.

Note that you can sign up for a free account on the Keepa website to better track items that interest you and access other information, such as additional data such as a list of all all variants or versions of the product.

You can change the preset, have exampe show only Amazon price information in the chart, or change the tooltip date format.

If you find a currency conversion option in the add-on settings to automatically convert the price information provided by Keepa to the selected currency.

Keepa is a well-designed browser extension to improve your shopping experience on Amazon. You can use it to make sure you don’t overpay for an item on Amazon without changing your workflow.

You can set up a price alert if the price of an item is too high at the time, and use one of the supported notification options to stay updated and make a purchase at the appropriate time.

The service’s core options are all available without a subscription, which I like a lot. Keepa supports other great features like price comparison (international Amazon and eBay stores), currency conversion, and lots of customization settings.
